Public Housing Assistance

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) administers Federal aid to our agency to manage housing for low-income residents at rents that they can afford. The Fulton Housing Authority owns, operates and maintains 200 Public Housing units throughout the city limits of Fulton.

Who is eligible for Public Housing assistance?

Anyone seeking housing assistance in the Fulton, Missouri is eligible to apply for housing assistance. The Fulton Housing Authority determines initial eligibility based on four factors:

  • annual gross income (see income guidelines)
  • U.S. citizenship or eligible immigration status
  • local federal preference
  • criminal record

If determined eligible, the Housing Authority will request references and documentation to assess whether the applicant will make a good tenant. The Housing Authority will deny admission to any applicant who demonstrates negative actions or behaviors which will have a detrimental effect on the Public Housing tenants and environment.
